Liquor Department

Our newly expanded liquor department has one of the finest selections of wine, liquor and beer in our area.

The wine section contains wines from Chile, France, Italy, Germany, Japan, and Australia. We carry a fine selection of Domestic as well as wines from Wisconsin. There are over 1200 different sizes and varieties of wine in our department. The liquor department features over 700 varieties in the department.
We also have a walk in beer cooler as well as 450 different sizes and varieties of beer.

Got questions about Wine?  Well read on.  Hopefully this will answer a few of your questions.  Listed are just a few varieties of White and Red Wines.


WHITE WINE:

CHARDONNAY: Medium bodied with flavors of apples, pears, tropical fruit, citrus, vanilla, butter and oak.

SAUVIGNON BLANC: Light to Medium-bodied with crisp acidity, grapefruit, lemon, lime, tropical fruit, melon and grassy flavors.

PINOT GRIGIO/GRIS: Light-bodied, refreshing with floral and citrus

RIESLING: An aromatic grape variety displaying flowery, almost perfumed, aromas as well as high acidity.

GEWURZTRAMINER: Aromas of roses, passion fruit and floral notes The variety has high natural sugar and the wines are white and usually off-dry.

 

RED WINE:

CABERNET SAUVIGNON:  Full-bodied with heavier tannins currants, herbs, olives, mint, chocolate, cedar and oak.

MERLOT: Medium to full-bodied with plum, blackberry, herbs, chocolate and cedar with a soft finish.

SYRAH/SHIRAZ:  Rich colored with deep red fruits, leather, smoke, violets, spice, earth and meaty characteristics.

PINOT NOIR:  Typically light in color but has many different styles ranging from simple, light and herbal, or classic red fruit, earth and spice, or even funky with barnyard aromas.

ZINFANDEL:  Medium to full-bodied, typically higher alcohol with upfront jammy dark fruit and a spicy pepper finish.

MALBEC: Rich, dark and juicy

SANGIOVESE:  Fresh fruity flavours of strawberry and a little spiciness, but it readily takes on oaky, even tarry, flavors when aged in barrels.
